Course Information

The Level 1 Award, run by Scottish Disability Sport takes place over seven hours, and by the end of the course delegates will be able to officiate a game of boccia, understand athletes’ individual needs and put key skills into practice.

The course covers:

  • Boccia Basics
  • Equipment
  • Terminology
  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • The Game
  • Violations
  • Multiple Choice Assessment
  • Opportunities
  • Signposting

This is a great opportunity for anyone involved in boccia clubs/sessions who would like to officiate. This is an assessed workshop with pre-course work on Brightspace (which will need to be completed independently) so any learners should have access to a mobile phone, tablet or laptop before and during the course.

Learners will receive their certificate on successful completion of the workshop and after they have officiated at two events on the 2025 calendar.

There's no cost to attend, registration is essential - https://sds.justgo.com/workbench/public/events?ref=FD7690B2E83EFE9BFF7665C4CE7C7984B47DE85C
