Course Information

Thanks to Craigie-Lee at Basketball Scotland, we have organised a day of learning about wheelchair basketball on 17 April at the North Inch Community Campus, 10am-4pm. The skills coaching award will be in the morning and officiating in the afternoon.
The cost is £15 per person, Perth & Kinross Disability Sport will cover this cost for all involved in volunteering at the Perth Eagles WSC. Here's the link to sign up
The Skills Coach Award is an exciting practical based course, designed to teach candidates on how to develop physical movement skills, technical skills and build basic tactical understanding by using games-based coaching within the wheelchair game. Candidates will need to consider how they will use what they have learned to ensure the practices are inclusive. On completion candidates will gain the skills needed to assist in facilitating fun, inclusive and engaging basketball sessions. Candidates will be assessed during the course.
The Tip Off- Youth Floor Official award is designed for keen individuals who are looking to official U14 and School Level competition. Candidates attending the course are shown the basic rules of the game, official signals, mechanics and how to control a game of basketball. Candidates are also advised how to conduct themselves on the court as a referee and expectations of officials. All candidates will receive a whistle, course materials and a copy of the online FIBA rule book. This award is an excellent opportunity to progress in Officiating and expand knowledge on the rules of basketball.
