This event was planned for 10th March 2021, however due to the rapidly changing situation with COVID-19, SDS have moved this to 29th September 2021.
Scottish Disability Sport is delighted to be returning to Dundee & Angus College for our 7th Tayside Parasport Festival. It is especially exciting to offer this opportunity during the Paralympic year as we look forward to Tokyo 2020/21 taking place between 24th August to 5th September where thousands of athletes from over 100 countries will compete and inspire the next generation of young people with a disability.
Our Parasport Festival for which invitations are extended to pupils from across Angus, Perth & Kinross and Dundee who attend mainstream schools.
The Parasport Festival is designed to introduce pupils with a physical, visual or hearing impairment to try new and exciting sports. It has been identified that these groups are significantly under-represented when it comes to participating in weekly sport or physical activity.
The festival will be delivered by some of the best clubs and coaches available in Tayside. After the event, the Scottish Disability Sport regional manager Graeme Doig will make contact to share local opportunities, pathways available and support transition into weekly participation.
