This event is being hosted by Perth & Kinross Disability Sport on 29th January 2020, 10am-2pm at the Academy of Sport & Wellbeing, Perth College UHI, Crieff Road, Perth, PH1 2NX in partnership with Perth Strathtay Harriers, Perth College UHI and Scottish Disability Sport. It is especially exciting to offer this opportunity during Paralympic year as we look forward to Tokyo 2020 from 25th August to 6th September where thousands of athletes from over 100 countries will compete and hopefully inspire the next generation of young people with a disability to participate and progress in sport or physical activity.
Sportshall Athletics is an indoor programme of adapted athletics activities which is fully inclusive. Events include Speed-bounce, Javelin, Shuttle runs, Target throw, Hurdles, Standing Long Jump, Hi-stepper, Seated chest push and with additional relays at the end.
You are invited to enter primary and secondary school pupils from Primary 4 upwards who have physical, learning and/or sensory disabilities to take part in the event.
From this, ten athletes from Perth & Kinross Schools will be selected to attend the Scottish Disability Sport National Sportshall Athletics Festival on 27th February 2020 at Grangemouth Sports Complex.
The event is free to enter but children are required to bring a packed lunch, snacks and water with them. We are expecting a high number of entries so please complete and return the attached entry form to Graeme@pkds.org.uk as soon as possible and by no later than Wednesday 22nd January 2020.
