Perth & Kinross Disability Sport are delighted to invite primary and secondary school pupils who have physical, learning or sensory disabilities or additional support needs to take part in our Sportshall Athletics festival on Wednesday 29 January 2025 at the Academy of Sport & Wellbeing, UHI Perth, Crieff Road, Perth in partnership with Perth Strathtay Harriers, UHI Perth and Scottish Disability Sport.
Due to popularity of this event in previous years, this year I have split the timings:
- Primary School pupils are 10am-12pm
- Secondary School pupils are 12.45pm-2.45pm.
- Fairview ASN school can choose which time slot suits them best.
- Registration and arrival open 30 minutes prior to the event start time
Sportshall Athletics is an indoor programme of adapted athletics activities which is fully inclusive. Events include Speed-bounce, Javelin, Shuttle runs, Target throw, Hurdles, Standing Long Jump, Hi-stepper, Seated chest push and with additional relay runs at the end.
This is a fun, recreational festival to support and encourage pupils to get active and enjoy physical activity in a safe and friendly environment.
As with all our events, there is no cost to participate.
Pupils are required to bring any snacks they would like and plenty water with them. Please wear clothing suitable for indoor physical activity.
A special thank you to the coaches at Perth Strathtay Harriers athletics club & Sports Coaching Students from UHI Perth who are supporting the delivery of this event.
The Disability/ASN inclusion group at Perth Strathtay Harriers meet every Tuesday at the George Duncan Athletics Arena in Perth.
- 5pm-5.55pm - P1 –P3
- 6pm- 6.55pm - P4 and above
